A Pinpoint Solution for Joint ..

A Pinpoint Solution for Joint and Back Pain: Ultrasound- and Fluoroscopy-Guided Injection Treatments

Living with chronic pain is not just a physical limitation; it is a process that drains your life energy. For our patients who can no longer perform daily activities due to lumbar disc herniation, knee arthritis, shoulder tears, or hip pain, modern medicine offers a very powerful bridge between surgery and drug therapy: Interventional Injection Treatments.

At our clinic, these methods do not just "mask" pain, but aim to directly target the source of pain, trigger tissue healing, and reduce inflammation.

Why Interventional Injection? Avoid "Blind" Procedures

In traditional methods, many injections are performed without any imaging device, by trial and error. However, joint and spine structure is quite complex. If the medication does not reach the targeted millimetric area, the treatment fails.

Our differentiating approach at Dr. Atasoy Clinic:

  • Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy Guidance: We see the injection site on the screen during the procedure.

  • Direct Hit: We deposit the medication or healing cells (PRP, Stem Cells, etc.) directly on the painful nerve or damaged tissue.

  • Safety: Since we monitor blood vessels and nerve structures in real-time, the safety of the procedure is at maximum levels.

Spine Injections: Herniation and Spinal Canal Stenosis Treatment

In back pain, it is not just the herniation; calcification of joint surfaces (facet joints) and nerve compression also play a role.

  • Epidural Steroid Injections: Applied to reduce edema in nerve root compression due to lumbar disc herniation.

  • Facet Joint Blocks: Effective for lower back stiffness caused by small joints at the back of the spine.

  • Nerve Root Blocks (Transforaminal): The painful nerve line is anesthetized precisely, and the patient's quality of life improves rapidly.

Knee and Hip Injections: Regenerative Medicine Against Arthritis

The knee and hip joints are the most prone to arthritis (arthrosis) as they bear the entire body's weight. We use the following methods in our patients who are young for surgery or who are found to be at surgical risk:

  • Intra-articular Fluid Supplementation (Hyaluronic Acid): In patients with reduced joint fluid, it acts as a "lubricant," reducing friction and pain.

  • PRP and Stem Cell Treatments: Healing cells taken from the patient's own blood or tissue are injected into the damaged cartilage area, triggering a natural healing process.

  • Radiofrequency Denervation (Pain Nerve Ablation): In patients with advanced arthritis who cannot undergo surgery, the nerves carrying the joint pain are inactivated, providing long-term relief.

Shoulder Injections: End to Movement Restriction

The shoulder is the most mobile and most complex joint in the body. Injections are life-saving in cases such as night-time shoulder pain and inability to raise the arm.

  • Subacromial Injections: Rapidly resolve edema in shoulder impingement syndrome and tendon inflammation (tendinitis).

  • Frozen Shoulder Treatment: Special expansion injections into the joint capsule restore range of motion.

What Are the Advantages of These Treatments?

  1. Rapid Effect: Many of our patients leave the clinic with significantly reduced pain.

  2. No Surgical Risk: General anesthesia, sutures, or hospital stay are not required.

  3. Permanent Healing Potential: Especially with regenerative treatments, tissue repair is the goal.

  4. Few Side Effects: Since medications are not taken systemically (orally), they do not burden the stomach, kidneys, and liver.

Treatment Options and Substances Used

At our clinic, the following contents are used according to the patient's needs:

  • Ozone Therapy: Increases regional oxygenation and eliminates inflammation.

  • Prolotherapy: Application of an irritant solution that strengthens damaged ligaments and tendons.

  • Corticosteroids: Preferred in severe acute pain to extinguish inflammation.

Important Note: Injection treatments are not a "miracle," but scientific medical procedures. The key to success is correct diagnosis, correct method, and correct application under imaging guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I feel pain during the injection? Before the procedure, the skin surface is anesthetized with local anesthetic creams or sprays. Additionally, since the needles used are very fine, our patients generally report feeling only light pressure.

Can I walk immediately after the procedure? Yes. All these procedures are performed in clinic conditions. Shortly after the procedure, you can walk out of the clinic and usually return to your normal life the next day.

Do these injections create dependence? No, these treatments do not have the characteristic of creating dependence. Our goal is to relieve pain and help your body repair itself.

Take a Step Toward a Healthy Life

Do not allow your pain to become chronic and confine you to your home. For your back, knee, hip, or shoulder pain, we are waiting for you at our clinic to determine the injection method best suited to you. Remember, a small intervention in the right place can create big changes in your life.
